The Florida Panthers will continue their playoff hunt as they come into Montreal tonight with games in hand over their competitors. While I do believe that Florida is a playoff capable team, I also think that they have played above their heads since January. The Panthers have gone 16-6 SU since January 30th, and will be heading on the road for the first time in about a month (Tampa Bay does not count as a road trip). Overall, Florida has had a much tougher time on the road this season, with a 13-20 record away from Sunrise, as opposed to a 22-14 record at home.
The prolonged homecooking is going to force Florida out of their natural unique state as they fly into Canada today for back to back nights of hockey. Also, Montreal has nothing to play for at this point in the season besides pride. They are playing a lot more naturally, and were able to beat Dallas in another spoiler situation last week.
As time goes on, the pressure is going to intensify for this young bunch in Florida. I expect that plus the change in habitat to have an effect on the Panthers coming into tonight.

As things get crazy in the Western Conference, the Los Angeles Kings and Minnesota Wild will square off in a battle where both teams really need these points to maintain their position.
The Wild are coming off a solid trip through the desert with a 2-0 sweep of Vegas and Arizona, but will also be playing their third game in four nights.
The Kings have been on a bit of a rebound pattern lately, and have been a solid road team this year. At the end of the day, I see a resilient Kings team going up against a very systematic Bruce Boudreau coached team, and I like their chances tonight.
