My cousin Vinny used to say to me “Keep It Simple Stupid”… Now I didn’t like him calling me stupid, but I like to keep things simple.  And this is one of those times!!

Last season the Jets played 8 road games, and scored more than 20 points just twice.  Now they’re expected to score that many on opening day with a brand new coach, Offensive coordinator, QB, RB, WR1, and without last year’s leading receiver Jamison Crowder who is out on the Covid list.

Carolina coach Matt Rhule has one rule:  Draft defensive players!!  Last year he spent all seven of his draft picks on the defensive side of the ball, and this year continued that trend with his first pick on defense, taking CB Jaycee Horn with the #8 pick overall.  Expect Rhule, a former LB at Penn State, to be focused on the defense and bring that mentality into his game planning.

Jets rookie Zach Wilson faced one ranked team last season-Coastal Carolina, and threw for only 240 yards as BYU scored just 17 points in Carolina.  You think his team is gonna score more this time back in Carolina??  As they say in Brooklyn…FUHGEDDABOUTIT!!!
