Today we have an interesting matchup between two teams coming off undesirable situations.

Let’s start with the Philadelphia Flyers, who after a very dominant extended stretch now see themselves in a two game losing streak where they have produced a total of two goals, including a 4-1 meltdown in Minnesota last night. After sustaining a couple injuries and enduring a late evening arrival into Winnipeg and another game to be played at 4pm local time start, many people are dismissing any sort of competence from the Flyers today.

The Winnipeg Jets may be expected to be in a more optimal form today, but their situation is not exactly the best either considering they have been red hot since the start of November. Not only did the Jets get blown out by the Red Wings in their last game three days ago, but they also allowed the worst team in hockey to snap out of a 12 game losing streak there. Could Winnipeg be approaching a groan zone? It’s coming and it should be coming soon.

While this game would provide a lot of trash talking material for fans of both teams today, I think Philly will be riding on pure adrenaline, and a lot of people will not be taking the Flyers seriously today.
