Today we have the battle between two streaking teams. Two four game win streaks to be exact.

While many people are turning into believers this year with this Coyotes team, a lot of people are also forgetting why the Islanders were the second most profitable team to bet on last season.

Okay, we all know that there were low expectations for New York after the departure of John Tavares, but a large reason on why we continually get value on the Islanders is also because they don’t play into the CORSI hype. Head Coach Barry Trotz has transformed this team into a defensively sound group of players that hold themselves accountable to strong coverage, and they could care less about speed or puck possession as a main theme. The Islanders won four straight games against Playoff Contenders without having to score more than three goals in any of those games, and were only favorites in one of them. This is the system taking its course.

Today they face a rightfully optimistic team in the Arizona Coyotes, as they too have gone toe to toe with some better offenses lately in their four game winning streak. However, the one thing that Arizona is still in its novice stages in is experience. The team is built on speed and relentless attacks and have gotten a jump on many unsuspecting teams early so far. Barry Trotz and the Islanders are not to be fooled however, as they will be ready for siege.

I expect the Islanders to capitalize on opportunities through a defensive style, and for this young Arizona team to get a test of resilience, and one that will be very difficult for them.
