Atlanta -2

Battle of the bottom feeders! This is a game that I would certainly have no interest in watching unless I were betting it.  Lucky for us that is just what I’ve done, as I have found some good value in taking Atlanta tonight in this contest.

Atlanta comes in with a record of 26-48 and New Orleans not much better at 31-44. Both teams have been long out of the playoff contention for weeks.  Surprisingly the Hawks have a chance to tie their longest winning streak of the year (3 entire games!) at New Orleans tonight.  If you ask me they are perfectly set up to do so.  Their confidence should be riding high after beating two top contenders in the Jazz and 76ers in their two most recent games.  I believe they know what a rare and favorable opportunity this could be to keep this small winning streak intact versus a depleted Pelican’s team just begging for the season to come to an end.

With that being said, Anthony Davis is again doubtful with back spasms.  Even more importantly, their next best scorer Holiday is officially done for the year with season ending surgery.  He has missed the previous 8 games, and New Orleans is just 1-7 ATS in that span, only covering vs the Mavericks.

Atlanta has also played better on the road compared to at home against the spread (21-16 vs 16-21).  It’s also difficult to even consider much of any home court advantage in this game as I don’t think they can give tickets away to watch these two teams play on a Monday night.  The Hawks are also playing much better as of late winning 12 of 16 ATS!

That’s why I think this is a clear pick to take the Hawks -2 tonight.  Good luck!
