The CBB Daily Dunkle – 3/1/18 (YTD 31-30)

Liberty -2.5 vs Campbell

It is quite a task to beat a team that is better than you twice in one season. How about beating that team three times? Liberty has been a better team than Campbell all year except the two times these two have met on the court. Campbell can certainly shoot the long ball and while Liberty struggles to defend the the three, they still defend it at 38%. In both match-ups with Campbell this season Campbell shot a combined 38 for 60 from downtown which registers a little north of 63%. This number is insane for a college program like Campbell. Mind you both these games despite 38 three pointers Liberty only lost each games by 10 and 9 respectively. I like Liberty to force tougher makes for Campbell in this spot, and finally prove they are the better squad.

St. Peter’s +3 vs Monmouth

This line is interesting. About two weeks ago these two met up in Monmouth and the spread opened with Monmouth -4.5. St. Peter’s was +1 when the game was in St. Peter’s. This proves the accurate line on a neutral court should have been between 1.5-2.5, so getting a free point or two with St. Peter’s. St. Peter’s has plenty more veteran’s on their team than Monmouth, and I like them to show their leadership in this game. St. Peter’s has also been playing plenty good defense lately while Monmouth has been severely struggling. Fairfield only scored 69, but had PLENTY of open looks throughout that just weren’t falling. I’ll happily take 3.5 in this spot with the much better defense with more experience in a near coin flip game.
