Panthers/Blue Jackets:

The Florida Panthers and Columbus Blue Jackets have both seen better days. CBJ is in a current downward spiral with key injuries on offense, while the Panthers just recently had a five game winning streak broken and have now been outscored 9-3 in their last two games.

Florida definitely has the potential to play a well rounded game, as they have a handful of gritty defensive forwards that can also create scoring opportunities. However, their challenge has been to find a consistent balance where the offense and defense are both strong at the same time. Luckily, they will not have to worry about stopping a strong offense tonight. 

The Blue Jackets lineup simply looks awful without Wennberg, Dubinsky, and Atkinson. This has transformed them into a one line team pretty much, and Tortorella appeared to have shifted the team approach to a defensive one two games ago. Being in the same situation tonight, expect him to coach his team with an opportunistic approach. Don’t expect Columbus to be an aggressor here.
