West Coast Bias – Week 13 Plays
129 Boise State O 64 – We noted back in Week 6 that the Smurfs struggles against the triple option, with the defense producing results like this the last two years against Air Force and New Mexico: 31, 37, 49, and 28 points in each match-up. Boise will be able to march up and down the field with QB Rypien and RB McNichols on a Fly Boy squad that has given up 38 and 46 points the last two weeks against San Jose and CSU. Clearly, depth on the defensive side for the Fly Boys is an issue as the season is closing out. We expect this one to be back and forth with some fireworks and we expect this game to be a little bit closer than the line would suggest as this one flies over the total Friday in Colorado Springs.
138 Wazzu +6.5 – UW QB Browning has come back to earth a bit and has thrown a few picks the last two times out. We also note that the injuries are starting to mount for the Huskies on defense, losing Victor and Mathis). Wazzu and QB Faulk should have success scoring against the UW defense and my numbers show these two defenses as nearly identical, which is not what the perception is for this match-up. Expect the ‘Cougs to keep this one closer than expected on Friday in Pullman.
221 Wyoming -3 – A chance for the Pokes to head to the MWC Championship game in a revenge spot as the Pokes lost last season to the Lobos in Laramie. Last we saw Los Lobos they were getting gashed and beat up physically last week against Colorado State. The Lobos have had the revolving door at QB the last few weeks and it has been problematic as the offense has not hummed like it typically does. Expect HC Bohl and QB Allen and stud RB Hill to pound the rock and dominate the Lobos in similar fashion as CSU did and win going away on Saturday in Albuquerque.
