YTD: 2-2

As we get deeper into conference play, I try to avoid betting against a lot of visiting teams, it’s my opinion, there’s no greater advantage in sports than home court in college hoops.  But today I’m going against that thought because I believe motivation will play the dominate factor. 

Three weeks ago Texas-Arlington was beat by Louisiana-Monroe in a “nail biting” overtime finish.  What was most disappointing, the Mavericks had the game in control, but lost, due to a couple of late rallies by the Warhawks.  Since that game, Louisiana-Monroe has gone 4-0 and has found itself on top of the Sun Belt Conference, along with Georgia Southern.  A team in which they play Saturday and could be looking ahead.  Even if they aren’t looking past the Mavericks, it doesn’t hurt my position for the bet.

The Mavericks have proved that they can compete with the Warhawks and with a revenge angle at play, I’m going to assume they will give a very hard effort and have a similar game plan as their last meeting, but with better execution.  I’ll take the points.
