College Football Week 4 Quick Hitters: Betting Nuggets and Featured Pick

This week’s version of Quick Hitters may seem a little more brief than normal. I’m usually not one to point fingers, but the schedule makers didn’t really give me a whole lot to work with in terms of marquee matchups. I mentioned it in last week’s segment and I’ll say it again: there isn’t a whole lot of quality football being played this Saturday. Still, there are a few situations you need to consider when scrounging through the unimpressive card labeled “NCAA football week #4”, and here they are:

In case you are new to this segment, this article will point out the top betting nuggets of the week by identifying trends, stats, and situations to be aware of. As I mention every week, it is important to remember that these trends and stats are only one piece of the puzzle when trying to figure out which team to place a wager on. They shouldn’t be followed blindly, but instead they should be considered and factored into the broader context and reasoning for selecting a side.

Hey guys, I love the site. Love the picks and all, and I sure as hell am not under any circumstances being negative, but Some of this just seems to be a lot of information and a lot of picks. Lets break it down,

    1. Your premium picks
    2. These weekly picks/quick hitters
    3. Newsletter Free Picks.

So now my question becomes, what the hell am I supposed to wager on? All of the above? Or the premium that we paid subscriptions for? Because if we shouldnt wager on the quick hitters, then why waste your time on write ups? If we should, then why not include them in the premium picks? Just confusing.

    Please help clarify.

      Brett,

I understand your confusion, and I will try to clarify it for you the best I can:

The premium picks are the best bets. Those are the games you should be wagering on. All of the other picks/write-ups in the free section are considered “leans” for your consideration. Having said that, if you agree with mine/our analysis of the featured picks/quick hitters, don’t feel hesitant to pull the trigger based off of that information. That’s why we do these write-ups.

My Quick Hitters segment tries to shed some light on stats, trends, and situations that people should be considering when looking at certain games. So if you really wanted to back Minnesota -3.5 this week, but failed to consider that they may be without their starting QB and RB, plus SJSU is coming off a bye, you may want to take that information I provided and reassess your (potential) wager.

Ahhhh, very interesting. But having said that, with your analysis and situation perspective, wouldn’t you believe that to be a play for one of your premium picks?

From a outsider perspective, let me paint a picture and give you an illustration. Its like me being a customer at a restaurant and sitting down, and you being the waiter. Then, me asking you, “hey whats good on the menu” and you basically saying “nothing on the menu is bad, everything is good”

That is kind of what I am getting from this. There are 5 of you cappers, then a new guy, then all these write-ups, leans, take a shot at’s and maybe consider this angle.

So from my vantage point, I kind of want a “hey we are glad you are here, the best thing on our menu is this T-bone steak, you will leave this restaurant extremely satisfied”.

Please do not take my comments as insulting, or derragatory, or negative – in NO WAY is that my intent. Its just me, asking for some more guidance on “what the hell am I actually to wager on, based on you all’s expert opinions”

Thanks for responding and I look forward to your insight so that we can all benefit! you rock!

Basically, the premium picks are the meat and potatoes of the site. This article is mostly used for information, if you are trying to scan over games/angles to jump on, or use in your own handicapping…it’s meant to just provide a different perspective.

This article may be most beneficial for somebody doing a weekly pick’em type of contest, and they are trying to get information/angles on a wide array of games. Or maybe somebody is leaning on one side, and they see a betting nugget to either discourage or help their cause.

So…if you are looking for our best bets/T-bone steak: head over to the premium picks part of the site. You can then come back and consume this article for desert if you are still hungry (haha)!

Thanks for the comment; appreciate the feedback.

Great write-up Opening Line this is one of the best segments on the site and very informative. I got luck last week and picked the one winner of the 2 RL movement games.
