Alabama 2013 Spring Preview – Who can stop the Tide?
So far in our Alabama 2013 spring preview we’ve looked at Alabama’s 2012 national championship season, the Bama offense and special teams and the Tide’s dominant defense. With Alabama starting spring practice yesterday, March 16, we end our four-part Crimson Tide spring preview with a quick glance at the few teams that could prevent Alabama from three-peating as national champion.
I didn’t realize A&M returns the fewest starters of all SEC teams.
I agree, LSU is the only team that will give Bama a game. Because the A&M game is at their place, it could get tough. I’m curious to see how Bama contains Manzeil (or what they do differently, as he didn’t run wild on them…but he had a pretty good day).
How the hell does Bama & UGA go – yet – another year without playing in the regular season? My guess is homecooking by the SEC offices.
Alabama and Georgia haven’t met in the regular season since 2008, which is amazing, especially when you consider Alabama has played every other team in the SEC East, including newcomer Missouri, since then.
You might recall that they were scheduled to play during the regular season in 2012. The game would have been at Bryant-Denny Stadium. The increase in the number of teams due to the expansion meant a new schedule, so Georgia was removed.
It will be interesting to see how Georgia fares this year, with a schedule that includes Clemson, LSU, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Florida.
