2020 SEC Football Pick of the Week – Week Eleven

Finally!
My Florida Gators finally gave the Georgia Bulldogs the beat-down they so rightfully deserved. Man, what a great game it was too. Despite spotting the Bulldogs 14 points in the first 3-4 minutes and throwing a pick-6 later in the game, the Gators rolled to a 44-28 win.
We also got a win here in our pick of the week here at DSE. We’re now 3-6 on the year and still picking games like the Tennessee Volunteers are playing them but we remain undeterred.
Week Eleven…
*EDITED TO REFLECT POSTPONED GAMES*
SEC Pick of the Week: No. 5 Texas A&M (-12) at Tennessee, 3:30pm ET on ESPN.
PPD.
SEC Pick of the Week II: Arkansas at No. 6 Florida (-17), 7:00pm ET on ESPN.
It’s a lot of points, yes, but I think this is an easy call. There is no way that the Razorbacks can and will hang with the Gators offense. And it doesn’t even matter that Kyle Pitts probably won’t suit up and play.
The Gators are coming off of their biggest win in the Dan Mullen era and Arkansas is without their head coach Sam Pittman due to a positive Covid-19 test.
This one could get ugly early.
Upset Alert: No. 24 Auburn (-13) at Mississippi State, 4:00pm ET on SECN.
PPD.
Keep an eye on: No. 1 Alabama (-23) at LSU, 6:00pm ET on CBS.
PPD.
Trending Up: Texas A&M.
I’m not sure what the Aggies ceiling is unless they win out and Alabama loses two regular season games but man, despite beginning the season a little slow they have been on fire the last three or four weeks.
I don’t think they’ll make a legitimate run at the playoffs or even the SEC Championship Game – such is life when you play in a division with Alabama but a New Year’s Six bowl game is not out of the question.
Who would’ve thought that a month ago?
Trending Down: Tennessee.
I’ve always been a big proponent of giving a coach at least three full years to get the ship sailing in the right direction.
And yes, I know all situations aren’t created equal but something just isn’t adding up in Knoxville.
Will Muschamp was supposed to struggle this year and Gus Malzahn would’ve been fired three years ago but he beats Alabama every other year. All of this leads us to Jeremy Pruitt.
I think it’s clear that at the very least he’s going to have to make some changes before the start of next season. If you’ve followed me here at DSE over the years you’ll know that I’ve never been high on Pruitt and while the Vols’ implosion is hilarious, Pruitt looks lost.
And he’s running out of time.
