Sharks moneyline -103  1.5*

We have a situation here that we are not exactly familiar with seeing recently, and that would be the sudden belief that the Buffalo Sabres are a strong team. Whether it pans out that way or not will be left to be seen throughout the remainder of the season.  I have no prediction on the topic whatsoever. I am focused on today.

Today, we have more or less a pick em between the San Jose Sharks and Buffalo Sabres, with most consensus’ thinking that this will be a Sabres victory. Though normally not the general way of thinking when these two meet, there are a few reasons as to why many people think the Sabres will win today. First off is the obvious. The Record. With a hot 7-1-1 start to the season, the Sabres are tied for first place with the Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche. Second would be the understanding that, if Buffalo can beat San Jose in San Jose, then what can they do to them in Buffalo? The Sabres did just that as they beat the Sharks 4-3 on Saturday night, and even sneaked in a practice session before their rematch tonight.

While Vegas has made a somewhat neutral line which would suggest that the Sharks continue to put up a fight in evening things up, I think opinions of the bigger money bettors have varied but are so far neutralizing the heavy public lean on the Sabres.

In my opinion, I think the Sharks current roster is founded strongly enough for a payback. It can also be argued that Buffalo is due for a loss, but there is not much merit to that. However, I do think that motivation plays a big role here, and that the Sharks will have a very good shot at handing Buffalo a loss at home here.
