Razors NHL 10/15/2018 (5-4 +1.41 units)

Kings/Maple Leafs:

The Los Angeles Kings will be visiting the Toronto Maple Leafs in their only meeting at the Air Canada Centre this season, and it should be an interesting one.

The Maple Leafs have come out guns blazing on offense, as many people anticipated, en route to their 5-1 start. They have gotten incredible chemistry from their top guns up front, and have been able to go toe to toe with any offense so far. With a top six like they have, it is not surprising that their goals have come the way have.

The Kings on the other hand, have had a see-saw start to the season, but have rebounded well coming off losses.

However, the more significant of things is that we have a veteran composed team known for a very stingy defense going up against a generally young core that thrives on an offensive philosophy.

It is often said that offense wins games while defense wins championships. I understand that we are quite early into the season, but I do feel as though this is the type of game that Los Angeles is well that they are at a scoring disadvantage, and it is the kind of matchup that will bring out their vintage form that led them to the two Stanley Cups earlier in the decade.

Kings moneyline +154  1*

Stars/Senators:

The Dallas Stars will be visiting Ottawa for the only time this season, as they look to win 4 of their first 5 games of the season.

Dallas has appeared to be in good form so far in most of their games, but I believe they are in some sort of transition here. After having the philosophy of Ken Hitchcock prove to be a culture shock to this organization, the Stars are new encountering another one following his retirement. So far, they have found a fine mix between offense and defense, but I do feel as though it may just be early season rhythm working in their favor.

While the Ottawa Senators are not exactly a marquee opponent, they are also not as bad as projected. A lot of hype surrounding the departure of Erik Karlsson and Matt Hoffman led many to believe that this team would be among the very bottom. However, Ottawa is a strange team that can surprise. So far, they have started off ok, with  2-2-1 record with impressive wins against the Maple Leafs and Kings. I feel as though this is the type of game where they can also catch the Stars off guard.

Expect Guy Boucher to have a gameplan against a team that is still adjusting to new ideologies.

Senators moneyline +158  1*
