UNLV (+5) @ New Mexico

UNLV is a very intriguing basketball team this season. Even without leading scorer Rashad Vaughn, they’ve played a couple of very close games in the Mountain West. Christian Wood stepped up his contributions since Vaughn went out, and tonight we look for him to dominate a New Mexico team that has lost 5 in a row and 7 of their last ten. With UNLV still mourning the loss of legendary coach Jerry Tarkanian, we really expect UNLV to be fired up tonight in what is sure to be a close game until the final minutes. Look for Patrick McCaw to spark the UNLV offense along with Christian Wood. Although New Mexico is a much deeper team, both have had plenty of rest for this matchup and we think that favors the high paced UNLV team. We expect New Mexico to really struggle to score tonight, and UNLV will ride Wood and McCaw to a very meaningful win for the program. We think that 5 points is generous in any Mountain West game, and we believe UNLV will cover easily and may even give New Mexico their 6th loss in a row.
