Record YTD: 3-3

Northern Iowa is coming off a huge win over highly ranked Wichita State, where they thumped the shockers by 16 points and shot over 60% from the field.  It was a win that put them on top of the Missouri Valley Conference and has given them a real chance to extend their play into March.  

Just 3 weeks ago Indiana State played at Northern Iowa and ended up losing by 6 points in a very close game that came down to fouls and free throws.  The Sycamores, despite coming off a victory on Saturday against Bradley, had one of their worst shooting performances of the season, hitting only 38% of their shots and barely winning at home as double digit favorites.  I believe this poor performance was directly related to them looking ahead to tonight’s game.  

When I choose games to bet, it’s not because one team is better than the other, it’s mostly due to when they are playing and the situation in which it applies.  Long story short….this match-up is a perfect candidate for this logic.  With revenge on the minds of Indiana State and a hangover likely for Northern Iowa, this sets up a prime opportunity for the Sycamores, to sneak out a win.
