College Football Notes – 02.02.15

If any of you guys have any great CFB articles to share, please post them in the comments section below. Thx.

ACC

I found a couple interesting articles on Pitt these past few days.

Pat Narduzzi plans to transform Pitt into a version of Michigan State

I always liked Narduzzi’s defenses at Michigan State. Looks like he wants to bring that same tough defense, ball control offense style to Pitt. The Panthers should be good for some UNDER totals next season.

Tennessee’s Peterman to enroll at Pitt in May

Why Florida State Can Return to College Football Playoff Without Jameis Winston

Noles losing a lot more than just Jameis, but Jimbo has been recruiting at a very high level and will replace talent with talent. The real concern will be experience and some potentially tough road games (at BC, Georgia Tech, Clemson and Florida).

RECRUITING

Tomorrow is NSD, so the college football news has been heavily slanted towards recruiting these past few days.

Pac-12 football’s biggest recruiting story lines

Alabama heading toward another No. 1 class

2015 Football Top Florida High School Recruits

I found this to be amazing. According to 247 Sports, there are 50 4/5-star recruits in the state of Florida and at the moment only one of them are committed to the University of Florida. How is that even possible?

Tennessee set to bring in SEC East’s top 2015 class

Looks like some of those Florida recruits mentioned above are heading to Knoxville. Butch has this program on the upswing.

Devonte Fields commits to Louisville

Former TCU defensive end and 2012 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Devonte Fields commits to Louisville after spending last season at JC.

Franklin dominates Pennsylvania recruiting

I had read something similar to this article a few weeks ago and commented to GoSooners that O’Brien had brought in three 4/5-star recruits in his two years at Penn State, Franklin already has 13.

Charlie Strong gets his next Bridgewater, flips QB from FSU to Texas

As I mentioned last week, Charlie Strong and Texas are killing it on the recruiting trail this year. The Horns haven;t had a good QB since Colt McCoy.

PAC 12

In the lull before signing day, a look at Pac-12 football, 2015

Seattle Times reporter Bud Withers makes an early PAC 12 prediction, choosing Stanford in the North and USC to edge out ASU in the South.

TWITTER

Some good Twitter info that I read:

Feldman Tweet

The Rams lose the most NFL talent they’ve ever had on the roster and their head coach. New HC Bobo has no head coaching experience. Could be some growing pains for CSU this season.

MyerbergTweet

I believe this will be London’s last year at UVA.

Tweet - ASU Recruiting

GO DEVILS!

Tweet - Cal_Oregon State

Cal is going to continue to improve. But I was not aware of all the Oregon State defensive personnel losses. Replacing Mannion’s offensive production will be tough, good luck replacing all that defensive production too.
