College Football Week 8 Quick Hitters – Betting Nuggets and Featured Pick
The situational angles paid off pretty well last weekend. One of my “top 5 look-ahead alerts” (BC over Clemson ATS) came to fruition, and the sharp picks posted another winning week (2-1), making them 10-4 on the year. LSU also shut down Florida’s offense to make the “featured pick” a winner, boosting the yearly record to an even 2-2.

EMU: WR Demarius Reed the victim of a homicide

Unfortunately, there’s sad and horrific news coming out of Ypslianti Friday afternoon.
Eastern Michigan confirmed earlier today that Eagles wide receiver Demarius Reed was the victim in an active homicide investigation. Reed’s body was found in the hallway of an off-campus apartment building at 7:15 a.m. ET this morning, Ypsilanti police said.
No details of what led to Reed’s alleged murder have been released, and no suspects are in custody. The YPD has asked the public for its help in the investigation.
The football program has yet to release a statement addressing the tragedy.
Reed had started all six games this season as a junior. He was fourth on the team with 15 receptions for 189 yards.

Ever notice how a lot of “smart money” moves happen on MAC lines in MAC games? We all know that “shit” happens in the MAC conference that makes people say, “huh?” The MAC has been good to me this year so far, but I still worry about making plays in these games.
