College Football News is a very good site that I would also put towards the top of my list. If I had a nickel for the number of times that I’ve gone in the site and looked at the boxscores and summaries of the games from previous week or weeks. Many times if you take the time, you can catch some patterns on how certain teams are improving in different areas or going backwards over the season just by reading these short summaries of their games. You’ll know what I’m talking about once your start surfing this site on a regular basis.

I have tried to read a couple of books but I just can’t seem to pick up the equation.

I’ve watched several of their videos on statistics.
Also, if you haven’t done so already, check out the Handicapper Think Tank at the SBR Forum. You’ll have to search through tons and tons of worthless posts and threads, but there are a lot of great nuggets to be found there.
I don’t know off the top of my head if he wrote anything specific on expected value, but check out the threads by a poster named Ganchrow. The guy is a mathematical/statistical genius and he writes a lot about stats as they relate to sports gambling and he uses a lot of examples.
