South Carolina 2013 Season Win Totals
Earlier this week 5Dimes released college football win totals for all 125 FBS teams and the South Carolina Gamecocks were listed at over 9.5 (-195) and under 9.5 (+155).
John Havard of Garnet and Black Attack takes a quick look at the South Carolina schedule for us.
Would love to get u9.5 +155…their opeining 3 game stretch is probably the toughest opening schedule of any team in a BCS conference…they play 3 straight sec roadies and 4 of 5 on the road in the middle of the season…one of those teams will trip them up…history says so…definitely an upset in there…then closing against florida and clemson certainly gives an opportunity for a loss
going thru the schedule and giving a “W” for each game a team is favored isn’t a very accurate way to play season win totals…if it were then you would just bet the over on the patriots and packers every year…
They play in the toughest conference in the ncaa and 3 ooc teams that were bowl teams (unc ineligble but qualified), including an 11 win team that beat LSU in the bowl and a 10 win ucf team on the road who has beaten sec teams before (UGA just recently)
just because they have the best player in the country doesn’t mean they’re a great team…they lost a lot on defense, their running game is below average, lost a key wr and true difference maker in their return game, and their qb(s) are inconsistent (just the fact that there’s no definite at the position says a lot about their consistency)
give me u9.5 +155 or u10 please
I agree with Trent on this one. I would much rather take my chances with the plus juice. It’s that 3 game road stretch that I have a problem with. When was the last time you saw an SEC team who wasn’t outstanding on one side of the ball or the other, sweep a 3 games in a row road game schedule in the SEC? It doesn’t happen very often. And I don’t see it happening here. And I’m not sure why the SEC schedules so many out of conference games in the middle of their conference schedule. Especially UCF, who will be a big distraction for Spurrier. SC has only 36 lettermen returning. So you also have to hope they stay healthy this year. Lot’s of if’s, ands & but’s with this team. Especially with the D, which has been their strength over the years. I would much rather take my chances with the Under.
Others must agree with Trent and GoSooners. Under 9.5 is down to +105 at 5dimes now.
