Texas State finished the 2012 season with a 4–8 record and went 2–4 in their one and only WAC season to finish in fifth place in the conference. Head coach Dennis Franchione and the Bobcats began spring practice on March 1 and will play their annual Maroon-Gold Spring Game on April 6 at 6:00 p.m. inside Bobcat Stadium.
