As much as I like HC Rhoads, I’m more inclined to take the under 4.5 wins. QB has always been as issue with ISU. And this year it’s a very big question mark. Although ISU managed 6 wins last year, they were fortunate in some ways to make that number. Their road upset came against first season BCS conference team TCU and a QB that was pretty much thrown to the wolves, and made many rookie mistakes that day. One other win against Tulsa came against a QB Cody Green, who was making his first start in 2 years on the road at Ames. They did have a nice win against Baylor. I’ll give them that. But it was before Baylor found their stride in their last 4 games of the season. ISU is always good for one Big 12 upset. That’s almost an automatic. But I think this season their best chances at wins come in their first two games at home, and their last two games against Kansas & WV. But even perennial bottom dweller Kansas may not be a slam dunk in Weis’s second season in the Big 12, and being more familiar with the conference. Something tells me it will come down to the last game to deterim ther over/under with the 4.5. And I would be much more surprised to see ISU go bowling this year with the 5 conference road games. Whatever wins they get with a rookie QB will probably have to come at home.
