Who to bet on Week #13: Sides and Totals to consider

Well it beats losing, but I don’t believe a 22-17 week on posted plays is acceptable after having set the bar much higher the past 7 or 8 weeks. We were sitting at 22-13 before losing our last 4 games of the night. That sucked!

    i took
    3* stan -1
    2* wake +11.5

hopefully some totals move my way later in the week

Trent: Glad you posted the WF pick. I was leaning Vanderbilt because Wake Forest has only scored 6 points total in its last two games and Vandy has a top D in the SEC. But I should probably stay away.

If you like situational angles, you gotta love Wake this week. Vandy is coming off a monster win over their biggest rival for the first time in forever (letdown). Wake needs a W to become bowl eligible (motivation). You can even toss in the revenge angle after Vandy hammered Wake last year. My numbers have Vandy –13 on a neutral field, so it could even be argued that w/ HFA the number is a touch high & Vandy offensively isn’t really made to cover large spreads.

Don’t let me turn you off a pick…i lost my crystal ball many years ago…hahaha

i really like vandy…tried to talk pez off his tenny pick last week…
but look at them closely and ask yourself if they fit the “model” of a team that should be laying DD on the road…WF playing for a bowl game on sr day as well…lots of intangibles going against vandy…biggest win in 30 yrs last week…capitalized on a lot of tenny mistakes…beat a broken down team…they are not as good as the final score of last week’s game…this spread is the same as when clemson played at wake…vandy<clemson and there's no debating that

    good luck

Here’s what I’m looking at so far this week:

Big play: PSU -2.5 over Wisconsin. Love the situational spot here. Senior day and last game for PSU. Wisconsin looking ahead to B10 championship. Plus, Wisconsin hasn’t beaten a legit opponent this season. They lost to Oregon St, Ohio St, Mich St, Nebraska. The Badgers love to beat up on the little guys, but the can’t get it done against quality teams. Their most notable win is against Utah State early in the year (in which they won by 2 at home). PSU’s front seven is top 25 in rushing defense; they should be able to limit the one-dimensional rushing offense of Wisky.

Small plays: LVille -11.5 over UConn, Neb/Iowa U53 (I’m with you on that one Pez).

Still doing some digging. Write-ups to come.

Is anyone else looking at Florida +8 and scratching their head? I am extremely bearish on FSU and I’m trying to put bias aside, but I just don’t see an FSU blowout here. Anyone like FSU -8 and want to make a case for it?

I even think their is value in the ML here. Am I crazy?

  6. Trentmoney says:

anytime you get a top 10 defense getting more than a td you’re not crazy to take those points…

fsu has played one ranked team this season and failed to cover as a favorite

    good luck

I also feel pretty much the way about South Carolina +4. They’ve got a great defense that is giving up just 17.5 per game. And they also have a phenomenal ATS record the game after an ATS loss. Plus Yaba Daba Swinney vs Spurrier

  8. gail says:

Sooners, great stats, and thank you! But how about No Illinois who has won 8 or more? They’ve won 10 and are 8-2 ATS!
