Thoughts on Georgia? I know you have them in a futures bet. I could see this game being close due to the rivalry, however Georgia clearly the better team.

Have a great Thanksgiving and after the season I’ll buy you a beer sometime. I live in Wburg Bk.

Dude you read my mind. I was working on the write-up as you commented that. I just don’t see any way that GT hangs in this one unless somehow they get SC defensive line to transfer tomorrow to put pressure on Murray. UGA is playing for the national championship and unless they completely lay an egg, then this one should not be close.

I’d love to take you up on that beer; lemme know when you cross the river. Enjoy your Holiday.

That’s funny….You must have read my mind. I was just going to see what your thoughts on Nebraska were and I see you posted them in the who to bet on section.

The Marshall game was tough to watch. Still having a killer year, and will continue to follow you!

Ole Miss -1.5 has to be a joke? Surprised its that low. Looks like a lock to me, especially with bowl eligibility on the line! Its been a few years since they last made it in 2009. Thoughts?

    • Sab SabertStxVii says:

Thanks man, been a roller coaster the past two weeks and been on the right side of some wrong games, but that comes with the territory.

Miss State is no joke. Both teams will be fired up for this one as they absolutely hate each other. About 6 miles from the Ole Miss campus on the only road you can really access it from, Miss St. put up a billboard last year that says: “This is our state.” Hugh Freeze would like nothing more than to win this game. He gets 100k for every SEC win, but this one is huge for him and huge for recruiting. There may be an extra bit of motivation for Ole Miss as what I would consider still an underdog feeling at home and playing for bowl eligibility, but both teams really want this one.

Ole Miss actually has a better offense, defense, and coach according to my ranking (not by much) but they just absolutely cannot get it done on defense in the 4th quarter, which is scary. As a pretty big Ole Miss fan for certain reasons, it has been so hard to watch. They literally could be 8-3 with wins over Vandy, LSU and A&M but they squandered them all away in the last 2 minutes of the game. sucks.

Miss St. has a great secondary, and an offense that can score. Their only losses come against teams that rank in the Top 7 (LSU, Bama, A&M).

I would have loved it if Ole Miss is getting 3, but I just don’t think I can take them giving points here. The line is low enough that they basically just have to win, but I cannot touch it where it is.

Hope to god the Rebels win, but don’t think I will be on it.

If by chance Oregon St beats Oregon on Saturday (the game starts 5 hours before the Stanford – UCLA game), I believe UCLA would secure HFA in the CCG if they beat Stanford.

I definitely lean towards Stanford too, but just something to keep in mind.

    Pez,

that is the only way ucla will have something to play for…
the reality is that all week long stanford will be preparing for a “must win” situation
while all week long ucla already knows it is in and most likely will have nothing to play for

i’m siding with human nature here and the better team
as you know i’ve already played stan -1

Any thoughts on WVU -1 at Iowa State?

    • Sab SabertStxVii says:

WVU defense is atrocious and that is what is probably holding me back from touching them. They finally figured out some firepower on offense last week and that was using Austin in pretty much every position.

My lean would be WVU here, but on the road after a really tough game the week before, I don’t know if I can touch either side. Iowa St is pretty middle-of-the-pack at everything so if WVU starts to score, which they will, I don’t know if I can see ISU hanging in there. But, if there was a defense you wanted to hang in there against, it would be WVU.

      • Seth says:

Yeah their defense is definitely the reason I am hesitant. Iowa State is marginal but dangerous at home. My thinking was that they just don’t have the firepower to keep up with WVU.

Sabe what you think about south Carolina and Clemson and who you think wins and is it a strong play. I personally like south Carolina by ten points or more

    • Sab SabertStxVii says:

Shane — I have this one being pretty much a PK on neutral field. Neither team has played an impressive schedule in my opinion, and neither have played their schedule that well.

I think this line is mispriced due to what has transpired over the fast weeks. Clemson is killing teams, and SC is playing bad teams closely.

I was leaning to play SC here, but ultimately stayed off for a few reasons. Clemson’s offense is strong. They are also at home. If SC front 7 don’t get to Boyd and give him troubles, then SC is in trouble themselves. SC offense is fine, but if this one becomes a shootout, SC is in trouble.

I lean SC here just due to the fact they have a good defense and I’m not sold on Boyd throwing it, but I’m staying off as 3.5 is not enough for me for a team going against an offense of this caliber at home.

In case you missed my post in your blog of a weeek ago, I want to make sure you get my big Thank You for your response to my questions about the key elements you use in capping games.
Happy TG and GL this week. I think Stanford makes a lot of sense.

    • Sab SabertStxVii says:

Marv — thanks again, i did see. Please let me know if you have any questions as you develop your own system. Would def be willing to help and offer advice where I can. I’m sure you’d help me see some things I am overlooking as well.

Goodluck this week and happy holidays.

My main concerns with WVU are of course defense (though actually improving in some aspects), not good as the favorite, and kicking/punting (terrible). That said, I can’t see them losing this one.
