MoMoney’s Week # 12 Handicapper Challenge
I figure since MoMoney has won the Saturday Edge Guest Handicapper Challenge for the past three weeks, and for 4 of the 5 weeks we’ve been doing it, I’ll just name the contest after him until someone else wins. LOL! MoMoney won last week’s challenge with a 4-1 record. He is now 14-1 the past three weeks and 22-3 in the five weeks that we have been doing the weekly challenge. Damn!

Rutgers +6.5
Should be a close game, I’ll take the better defense.
Stanford +20.5
Oregon banged up on defense. Oregon struggled to run the football last week against Cal and Stanford’s defense is better.
Louisiana Tech +3.5
Too many points for the home team whose only loss is to Texas A & M by 2 points on a neutral field.
Marshall -3
Houston is not playing very well right now and have not played well on the road all season. Marshall will outscore them.
New Mexico +10
After how poorly Nevada has played on defense this year I do not know why their are a double digit road favorite.
Make sure to include one final score for the tiebreaker.
Thanks,
Rutgers 23-21
Is it really the 12th week?
Stanford +21
Stanford controls the clock in this game and needs to get a few stops to have a chance here. If they can rotate the DL enough that they can hang in the 2nd half they have a shot, if not it’s adios. I bet the ML +900 as a side bet but I would not recommend it.
42-35 Ducks
Oklahoma -11
West Virginia defense is terrible. With the Sooners you never know what team is showing up but against
middle tier teams (Texas and Texas Tech) they play lights out. I like the Oklahoma DB matchup and I think they get at least three picks and their O scores at least 45.
51-28
Ohio State +3
Buckeyes really have no pressure here, have the better coach, QB and team speed. Liked this game for awile
Buckeyes 31-24
Cal +14 1/2
Beavers always play down to their competition at home. Cal QB Maynard is long gone so Cal has a chance here to keep it close. HC Tedford for Cal was seen walking out of his attorney’s office yesterday after reviewing his buyout which has me a little concerned.
Beavers 27-21
Air Force -22
Hate laying all that lumber but Hawaii is that bad, Air Force LOVES playing on national TV and will be pumped up to get their 6th win so they can go bowling. Name the score.
Air Force 52-7.
Tiebreaker
Ducks 42-35
Gong to fade a few really bad road teams …. and some really bad home teams:
Nebraska -20
Miami, OH +4.5
Oklahoma -11
Boise State -28
Washington -20
Tie-breaker: Boise State 45- 10
OSU/Wisconsin Under 52 (OSU 24 Wiscy 20)
Florida State -31
Oregon -20.5
Texas Tech +10
Wake Forest/ND Under 42
What the heck, I’ll throw my name in the hat this week:
Utah State -3 over LA Tech
Air Force -21.5 over Hawaii
Ohio St +2 over Wisconsin
BYU -3 over San Jose St
Kent St +2 over Bowling Green (tie-breaker 24-20 Kent St.)
Also have Rutgers +6, NW +7, Miss +18, but I’ll play those five.
My version of the Blazing Five™ continues to flag this week.
USC -3 at UCLA – I’ve spoken enough about this game on this site. Yes, I am a USC homer and a loss suffered at the hands of UCLA will be more soul-crushing then yet again losing the handicapper (MoMoney) challenge, but what can I say? I am a glutton for punishment.
USC vs. UCLA Over 66 – Both these teams average 37 (rounding) points a game. Add in the fact that this game will be an all-cylinders-firing pac-12 south showdown and I think this total could reach Oregon-USC levels.
Marshall -3 vs. Houston – Have you herd how bad Houston is? They are coming off a walloping at home by their rival Tulsa.
UNLV +1 vs. Wyoming – This team likes home cooking so I’m sticking with their 4-0-1 ATS home record and taking them to win against the hapless cowboys.
Kansas State -12.5 at Baylor – DJ Khalid was thinking about K State when he penned all I do is win. Baylor’s defense is awful. Kansas State 52- Baylor 35 (tie-breaker)
I am going to throw a friend’s picks out there this week. I have not been good all season but my buddy has hit 71% over the last 10 weeks. We pick 5 per week in the @hawkeyesuperc Contest! Here are his picks:
NW +7
Wiscy -2
Michigan -17 – no group of Michigan seniors has ever gone winless for a career against Iowa.
USC/ UCLA over 66
Oreg/ Stan over 64.5
Missouri -5.5
Indiana +17.5
Ohio St +2.5 (Ohio State 31-24)
Northwestern +7
Wake Forest/ND UNDER 43
Looks like we have a new winner to the challenge. Terry went 3-1-1 to edge out Will C & OpeningLine who both went 3-2.
I drop my head in shame with my picks this week!
MoMoney, nothing to be ashamed about my man, you had an amazing 5 week run (22-3). Sometimes variance (luck) just isn’t going to go your way no matter how well you cap the game(s).
