2020 SEC Football Pick of the Week: Week Seven
What a frustrating but glorious week of college football it was. The Florida Gators finally got over their Missouri bug (but they failed to cover the spread) and Tennessee destroyed LSU, meaning we’re now 3-4 on the year with our picks.
There are a few big games this week though as we’re now in the meat of the SEC schedule.
Let’s get to it.
Week seven…
SEC Pick of the Week: No. 13 Mississippi State (-6.0) at No. 22 Kentucky, 7:30pm ET on SECN.
Will Rogers might just be the perfect quarterback for a Mike Leach team. If he played on a better team he’d be far and away the Heisman frontrunner, but such is life in the Air Raid.
Much of this game will rest on the shoulders of Kentucky quarterback Will Levis though, if he can play. He’s missed the last couple of games with an ankle injury and his status is up in the air at the time of this writing.
I’m all in on the pirate to get it done. The Bulldogs will handle their business in Lexington.
Upset alert: No. 3 Alabama (-7.5) at No. 6 Tennessee, 3:30pm ET on CBS.
If the Volunteers ever had a chance, this certainly feels like this is it. After this year, it’s back to the rebuild and I’m not so sure that the Vols can withstand another one.
The best overall offense in the SEC going up against the best overall program in the SEC? Sign me up.
Knoxville is going to be electric. This is their shot and they know it.
Keep an eye on: LSU at Florida (-2.5), 7:00pm ET on ESPN.
In a “rivalry” game that this Gator is ready to see go away with the arrival of Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC in the coming years, both teams are looking to take that next step towards bowl eligibility.
It’s Tom Petty Night at The Swamp and the Gators are looking for some Tiger blood. It would also appear that of the two the Gators are the team that is playing slightly better. While both teams have defensive issues, I feel as if the Gators can be more explosive on offense, especially running the ball.
Hopefully all the LSU players have their shoes tied extra tight.
Trending up: Tennessee.
Are they for real? We’re about to find out.
Trending down: Kentucky.
With their season on the line, we’ll see how they respond.
