It’s a brand new ballgame folks. With Florida’s 34-10 win over Kentucky on Saturday we’ve crawled our way back to .500 for the year at 6-6.

We’re also 51-37 since 2015 and I’m OK with that. Especially due to the fact that we were 2-6 on the year just a few weeks ago.

As for our other profiled games, Georgia demolished South Carolina and Texas A&M played great defense in a 20-7 win.

As always, we march on.

Week Fourteen…

SEC Pick of the Week: No. 5 Texas A&M (-6.5) at Auburn, 12:00pm ET on ESPN.

If the Aggies are truly serious about sneaking into the playoffs they are going to need to obliterate their remaining opponents. A nice win at Auburn would certainty count as one.

Kellen Mond has been OK this year while his counterpart at Auburn, Bo Nix has not. I’ve never been a big Nix fan (or a big Mond fan for that matter) but man, he needs to play a great game for the Tigers if they want to pull this out.

Can the Tigers keep this within a touchdown? I doubt it. A&M is rolling for the first time under Jimbo Fisher and they’ll continue here.

SEC Pick of the Week II: No. 6 Florida (-17.5) at Tennessee, 3:30pm ET on CBS.

There was a time when this was the game in the SEC. When I was growing up this was it. Florida against Tennessee for the division and possibly the entire SEC.

Every. Damn. Year.

From the early 1990’s to the middle of the 2000’s this was the biggest game on Tennessee’s schedule and the second biggest on Florida’s. Then Phil Fulmer got fired, Derek Dooley and Bitch Jones showed up, Steve Spurrier moved on and Florida hired Ron Zook, Urban Meyer and Will Muschamp. It’s not all that cut and dry, but at the same time it is.

Now it’s Dan Mullen vs. Jeremy Pruitt.

One program dreams of making the playoffs and conference titles while the other dreams of a winning record and keeping his job.

If the Gators’ offense even remotely shows up and just goes through the motions this one is over early. I like the Gators to win big.

Upset Alert: Arkansas at Missouri (-2.5), 12:00pm ET on SECN.

I’m all about the Razorbacks here.

They’ve played well all season long minus what was expected and Missouri is well, Missouri.

Surely Arkansas can win this or lose it very close. They’ve been doing it all season long in games like this.

Keep an eye on: South Carolina at Kentucky (-11.5), 7:30pm ET on SECN.

If Mike Bobo has any shot of getting this job long-term this is a game he must win. The Gamecocks have long struggled to win these types of games but Kentucky isn’t your normal Mark Stoops Kentucky.

This is a perfect SEC Saturday Night on SECN game. Should be a good one. I think it can be close or a Wildcat blowout.

Trending up: JT Daniels.

I’ll say two things:

First, I think it’s hilarious that Daniels wasn’t ready to until Georgia’s season was already over. And I don’t care the reason.

Two, he’s actually played better than I thought he would. In his two combined starts he’s completed 38 of 54 pass attempts for 540 yards, six touchdowns and one interception.

Now those are pretty good numbers especially when you consider where this offense was without him. The Bulldogs are clearly his team moving forward.

Trending down: Vanderbilt.

Listen, I fully understand how difficult it is to win at Vanderbilt. I get it. As the lone private school in the conference they have a much higher academic standard than the majority of the conference. The only other school that even is close is Florida.

Doctors and lawyers and such. And they begin anew. And their game this week against Georgia is postponed due to Covid-19 numbers.
