Kings/Stars:

This game appears to have a more than obvious suggestion that the Dallas Stars should win this one, and it is not surprising to see consensus’ in the high 70%s in favor of Dallas.

The Stars have been highly touted for a few years now, and have shown a high level of competence since their slow start. Though we know that Dallas will not be taking the Pacific bottom dwelling California teams lightly, Dallas also has not played in five games.

Why is this a problem?

Because they will now face a Los Angeles team that is very dominant in puck possession and game control. Though the Kings are not a “good” team so to say, one more game with the return of their key veterans is going to help this team get into a good cycle. Any team that is coming in with any sort of rust is going to have a tough time in this one.

While Dallas is surging, this is also an extended break that can be disruptive of rhythm. Though the Stars have had a lot of puck luck and have done a lot of things right in the past couple months, expect a relentless attack from the Kings..with an added motive of blowing the last game against CBJ.
