2019 SEC Pick of the Week – Week Thirteen

A perfect weekend.

The Florida Gators beat the Missouri Tigers 23-6 to cover the 6.5-point spread and the Georgia Bulldogs squeaked by the Auburn Tigers 21-14 to cover their spread of minus three.

As a result we improved to 9-7 on the year and have made a nice climb despite losing more than a few games by a half a point.

We’re also getting very close to rivalry week.

Week thirteen…

SEC Pick of the Week: Texas A&M at Georgia (-13), 3:30pm ET on CBS.

Normally this is the type of game that has “upset alert” written all over it. But now Georgia, with its one loss, can win out and easily make the playoffs.

That changes things.

And they need a few style points too, because they have the worse loss by far of any of the potential CFP teams.

That’s also nitpicking a bit. Win the rest of their games and their in. Without a doubt.

An elite defense and a just-good-enough offense has them sitting pretty. As for A&M, well, yeah, what did you expect? Jimbo Fisher is vastly overrated as a coach who got somewhat lucky with Jamies Winston at FSU.

Good luck with the rest of that contract.

Dawgs win big.

Upset alert: Tennessee at Missouri (-3.5), 7:30pm ET on SECN.

With it being FCS weekend in the SEC and half the league has a bye week as well, it’s slim pickings.

Missouri is playing for their season.

Keep an eye on: Arkansas at No. 1 LSU (-43), 7:00pm ET on ESPN.

Again, see above, FCS weekend, etc.

Anything can happen in the Battle for the Golden Boot, right?

Right? Right!

Trending up: NY6.

The way I see it, LSU, Georgia, Alabama and Florida will all play in New Year’s Six bowls.

Maybe, possibly, sure.

Like years past when the conference won every BCS title for like a decade, that seems like a lot.

Trending down: Missouri.

Losers of what now, four straight?  OK. So you’ve lost back to back games to Georgia and Florida, there’s no shame in that. Oh, you got waxed by Vanderbilt and now Tennessee comes to town, yeah, Odom might be out of a job soon.
