Avalanche/Canucks:

The Colorado Avalanche will be looking to erase their worst loss of the season, as they come into Vancouver to face the high flying Canucks. 

We are seeing some early season surprises, like always, and these two have some of their own. The Avalanche top line of Nate MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Gabriel Landeskog has been the NHL’s top producing line so far. The Vancouver Canucks, while being projected as a bottom feeder, has seem very promising results from their young core in the early going. 

While this may be just a case of living the moment for the Canucks, and even this Av’s top line, they are well in it right now.

Colorado will come into Vancouver very angry, as they blew a 4-1 lead coming into the third period yesterday. With over half a week off following this game, Colorado will likely take a more loose and reckless and emotionally driven approach here instead of taking the last few hours to work on their defensive lapses. Coming from a very high altitude down to sea level, I expect the Avalanche to have fresh legs in the early going. 

The Vancouver Canucks should continue to see a very motivated offense led by the likes of Elia Pettersen, Bo Horvat, and Brock Boeser. With the Canucks also having the whole weekend off, expect this to be a pedal to the metal firing frenzy.
