Friday Bet:
Anyone who knows my style will understand that I am the furthest thing from a square capper. However, sometimes, the obvious may be there for the taking.
The Calgary Flames have been known to be among the streakiest teams in hockey in the past two seasons, and breaking a losing streak usually means that they will start heading up for a bit. Ottawa has clearly thrown in the towel this season, and are coming off an extended game versus the Sabres last night. After tonight, they will not play again for another three days. Don’t expect the Senators to be scrambling to get back on track coming off last night’s loss.
The Vancouver Canucks should have stopped trying a long time ago, but are now finally coming to terms with their defeated season. To seal their fate, they will be without Brock Boeser until the end of the season. There is no reason to play for anything, besides the motivation of playing spoiler. However, the Wild are a very focused team at the moment, and are looking like a typical dominant regular season team that is coached by Boudreau. I don’t see the Canucks catching them off guard today.
