Flyers/Canadiens:

The Philadelphia Flyers and Montreal Canadiens will meet for the second time in a week, but I don’t see results being too different here. Both teams continue to nurse significant injuries, and the goalie situation will be a little different today.

Peter Mrazek will be onto his third game in a Flyer uniform, and so far he has let in a combined 4 goals. Mrazek has always been an underrated goalie, and will be looking to stay sharp against a team that really does not have much to offer on offense these days.

Likewise, Canadiens backup Charlie Lindgren has gotten back on track, and his potential has been well advertised.

Both teams are going to be making things easier on their backups tonight.

Essentially, with offenses not really being at full health, and Montreal not really playing with too much motivation, I see this being a neutral zone game. The backup situation has inflated the total to 6.

Canucks/Avalanche:

The Vancouver Canucks are coming off a 3-1 win in the desert against the Coyotes, but let’s take into consideration that they will be playing in mile high altitude today with little to no motivation. With the trade of Thomas Vanek, the Canucks look confused from the second line onward, and I highly doubt that they will get much going tonight if Colorado plays with composure.

At the same time however, the Avalanche are experiencing a bit of pressure right now and will have challenges of their own against a team with nothing to lose.

I am expecting a lot of quick shifts today, leading to minimal traction. Even with Anders Nilsson in net for the Canucks, I think this will be a very low scoring game that comes down to the wire.

UNDER 6 -120 2*
