Tonight, in a battle of tomato cans Iowa travels to play Rutgers. This game currently sits at Iowa -1 and I feel Rutgers is getting a lot of respect here. Rutgers has dropped 2 in row and 5 of six, which it’s most recent loss coming as a home blowout against Ohio State. Iowa has had a poor year for their own standards, but is coming off a win @Illinois despite dropping three straight before that game. I like Iowa to ride their confidence into tonight vs Rutgers.

Kenpom has a large disparity between these two teams with Iowa ranked 88 and Rutgers ranked 135. Rutgers has a slightly better record, but Iowa has played much better competition. CBS Sports has Iowa ranked 106 in SOS and Rutgers ranked 138. Tonight’s match-up features two teams who are very good on the glass, yet very different in game style. Iowa is 48th in Offensive Adjusted efficiency while Rutgers is 27th in defensive adjusted efficiency, so it will certainly be a clash of styles.

Iowa’s offensive efficiency will prove to be too much for Rutgers here who is lacking confidence at this point in the season. Iowa has also won the last four meetings with Rutgers, and I expect that streak to continue tonight.
