Islanders/Canadiens:

The New York Islanders will be looking to carry their momentum off the break into tonight to face the Montreal Canadiens.

When you think of the New York Islanders, you think of high scoring games. The Islanders rank dead last in defense, but second in goals per game this season. Doug Weight has a very high octane style, and this has allowed almost every line to be deadly. Even with the absence of a top three playmaker in the league in Josh Bailey, the Islanders found a way to notch seven goals against the Rangers. However, today is a unique situation.

New York will likely be without Josh Bailey again, as he did not take part in the morning skate. This means that Quine is probably going to be experimented on the top line again with Tavares and Lee.

Though this does not say much, the Montreal Canadiens will be without their third leading scorer in Phillip Danault, after he took a Zdeno Chara clapper to the head a couple nights ago. Danault was a strong net presence player, who actually took on the role of the Center position at times as Montreal only has two natural Centers. The plan was to move Andrew Shaw into the role, but that did not pan out, as he was also just recently this morning listed as out with a lower body injury. With the absence of Danault, the line shuffling will cause this to be a very confused lineup, and I am sure the purpose of yesterday’s practice was to find some chemistry. Canadiens leaders are finally starting to score, but I think tonight they should all assume more of a defensive role. I trust that the defense will come to play, and I trust that Price will be at his best in a time of need like today.
