Let March Madness begin. This one is short and sweet, but I think it will prove to be a good play today.

In my previous article “overrated and underrated teams”, I alluded to the Bearcats being underrated, so it makes sense I’m picking them to win their opening game vs Purdue.  Cincinnati is very sound defensively and have the ability to create turnovers frequently.  Too many times, especially in the NCAA tournament, the casual bettor flocks to the high octane offenses.  The problem is those types of teams are fickle. Good defensive teams are more dependable, more consistent, and as a result create winning brackets. 

This will be the best defensive team Purdue has faced and I’m expecting them to get a bit frustrated with the Bearcat’s pressure defense.  Being 6^th in overall defense efficiency and holding teams on average under 40% shooting from the field, it could prove to be a long day for the Boilermakers.  I believe Cincinnati wins and moves on to get killed by Kentucky.
