In a tough matchup vs a Villanova team ranked 6th in the nation, Xavier looks to bolster their resume for the tournament. Villanova is coming off a 28 point drubbing of Providence at home, also having won and covered their last 8 games. On the flip side Xavier is coming off a 1 point loss to St Johns but returns home where they have been solid, winning their last game vs Butler by 17 points. Xavier is coming off 5 days rest playing their next to last game of the season and I expect them to bring their best effort.

The line opened at Villanova -2.5 and has moved down to -2 even with majority of action coming in on Nova. The public has bought the line back up to 2.5 at some books and I expect it finish around 2., 2.5. I personally like Xavier to win the game outright as they should be highly motivated for this one. Villanova  has the Big East wrapped up and this win would do little for them. Take the points with a hungry Xavier team at home vs a Villanova team coming off a blowout win and inflated top ten ranking.
