College Football Notes – 02.24.15
Spring practices are getting started throughout the country, so we should have a lot of team and conference info pouring in over the next several weeks (well into May)
Five things to watch in Michigan spring practice
A summary of the QB, RB, Secondary, Special Teams & OL positions.
Offensive coaches unite against the new linemen downfield rule proposal
GoSooners talked about this rule change proposal a few weeks ago. Here’s a good article discussing it from the perspective of some of the coaches who do not want to see it implemented.
Some College Football Fun: The College Football Oscars go to…

Predicting the Top 20 Offenses of the 2015 College Football Season
Predicting the Top 20 Defenses of the 2015 College Football Season
A pair of Bleacher Report slideshows, but they each contain some good info on returning starters and 2015 expectations. The Devils are mentioned in both …. SWEET!
Stanford starts spring practice trying to regain reputation
Stanford surged at the end of last season, hammering Cal, UCLA & Maryland. We shall see if they can carry that momentum into 2015. Offensively they should be much better this season. If they can maintain their solid play on defense, despite losing several key contributors (especially along the Dl and in the secondary), they will be in the Pac-12 title hunt again.
Some more Pac-12 news. I always liked Bradley’s defenses at Penn State. He’ll have some good, young talent to work with in Westwood this season.
SEC pre-spring position rankings: QB
We discussed the lack of experience at QB in the SEC a few weeks ago, so this ESPN article is a little late. But it does contain a good, brief overview of the position for each team.
2015 starts Northwestern football’s golden era of recruits
This is an interesting article. It appears as though Northwestern has a lot of “recruited” talent (by Northwestern standards) on this year’s roster.
