YTD: 1-2

College basketball (or football for that matter) can be tricky to handicap because of the diverse talent among the various teams, therefore rout victories are not uncommon.  But, what makes college hoops so great (especially March Madness) is every team has their “moment of greatness” to define the odds and play with focus and determination for one night.  And although the Bulldogs are dead last in the Missouri Valley Conference with a total of 4 wins, I believe their opportunity will be tonight. 

Drake has had many losses this season, but none were as bad as their defeat a couple of weeks ago, where they were destroyed by 36 points to Illinois State.  Tonight they get their chance to redeem their horrible performance as home dogs. 

I’m opening myself up for a lot of criticism, because the Redbirds are a better team in almost every department and no one will be giving the Bulldogs a second thought.  If I lose, it will most likely be by 20 and I will look like a complete fool, but what if tonight is their “moment of greatness”?  I hate to beat a dead horse, because I have said this so many times, but for this game it’s worth saying again, “it’s not who you play, it’s when you play”.
