YTD Record: 1-1

The Gamecocks are coming off two consecutive losses, which applies to a good bounce back situation play.  South Carolina shot nearly 10% below its shooting average in their previous game, making it their worst shooting performance of the season.  In addition, they played poor defense, which is a bit out of the norm, considering they rank 41^st in overall defense with a decent non-conference strength of schedule. 

Alabama’s dismal 2-20 record on the road in the last 22 games won’t help their cause, especially their overall road defense where they’re ranked 147^th.  The tide is among the worst in 3 point accuracy this season, while South Carolina is among the best in defending it, so points will have to be produced from the inside, which won’t come easy considering the Gamecocks size and length. 

With desperation playing a huge motivational factor, the Gamecocks can’t afford a 3^rd straight conference loss this early.  I’m expecting a rebound from their rout defeat, so I’ll lay the small number and go with the home team.
