Jimmy Singh’s College Football Week #10

YTD 14-12

Two straight strong weeks, going 4-2 after a 5-2 week.  I will look to build on this momentum. This is not a great card by any means, but there are some plays worth considering.

Michigan +6 at Michigan St

Big time rivalry game and I think this is too many points for Michigan St to be laying. Honestly, I am not sure which team is better so right away that makes me look at the dog in the matchup. I think Michigan has weapons on offense that can create some big plays and get them some points. Marching down the field is hard vs Mich St but they can be had for some big plays. On the other side, I think Michigan St sets up well for Mich’s D. Mich St has improved but they aren’t explosive and that should help out Michigan on D as they have been torched in the past and been involved in some shootouts.

South Carolina – 12 vs Miss St

SC looks to gain momentum here off a big win vs Missouri and they are FINALLY back home after a 3 game road trip. Miss St has looked very poor in wins the last couple of weeks and should have put away BG and Kentucky easiliy. Some people seem to like Dan Mullen but I think he is a poor head coach. There has been hype on Miss St , but they have not produced much or had big wins over the past couple of years. SC back home should win easily vs IMO one of the 2 worst teams in the SEC.  SC easy here.

Auburn -8 at Arkansas

WVU +13 at TCU

Georgia Tech -10 vs Pitt

Temple +13 at Rutgers

ADDED PLAYS:

Fri Nov 1, 2013 – 11:00am EST

Cal +16 vs Arizona

NC State + 5.5 at UNC

Tulane +3 at FAU

    Jimmy,

Is this your complete card? Also, what do you do if the lines move against you? I agree with Dan Mullen, his stock bottomed out three seasons ago.

yes this the complete card. If there is anyhting I like, I usually add it through twitter @jimmysingh9. I don’t worry if the line moves against me unless its due to injury. I have been against sharp sides and have won enough times…remember sharps are aiming for 54-57%..means there are wrong over 40% of the time. I will look into if the move is against me and monitor it however

Thanks for the response and insight Jimmy. What is your approach like when looking at match ups? I guess what I am asking when it comes to handicapping what do you consider to be the most important variable? I have read that yards per play in football is a very important statistic.
Also, what are your thoughts on guys that bet like sports is a financial market? Do you think it works long term or is it more beneficial to handicap?
