In Game Focus: Lead Change Saturday; and Win One for the Orgeron
This weeks card seems to offer an exceptionally high number of the kind of pass rich shootouts which offer good chances at decent middles. Below are my shopping numbers without the reasons for my handicapping preferences. If someone wants to take the other side I’d be happy to let a discussion produce my reasons.
Michigan at Penn State
I like PSU at the price, and so will take the three and live with it unless I can get a Michigan +7.5 along the way.
Missouri at Georgia
I can’t see Missouri not having some offensive success here, and like them +8.5. If I can get Geogia -3 at some point, though, I’ll like the middle equity better than the preferred side.
Oregon State at Washington State
No preference here as far as a side, but both teams are capable of erasing leads and having them erased. I’ll wait until one side is getting +10.5 and bet them as late as the end of the third quarter.
Arizona at USC (Thursday Night)
I love betting coach changes in the NBA, but find them much harder to read in CFB. This one, though, smells like an NBA change. Coach Kiffin was toxic, and the players felt it and at some level “decided” to get him fired. That’s going to give them a whole bunch of NRE and make a fast start a good bet. If I knew USC would get the ball first I’d make this a 1Q bet, but as we don’t I’ll take the Trojans in the 1H.
