For your consideration: Wake Forest +7
Five Essential Things!
There are five essential things that make the Demon Deacons a team of choice this weekend against their inner state rival NC State.
1. Rout losses: The great thing about teams getting blown out in their last game, it becomes an opportunity to prove themselves in the next game. The Demon Deacons are back home after getting spanked by Clemson and only scoring 7 points to the Tigers 56. Senior QB Tanner Price will hope to have a much better game compared to last week’s horrible performance.
2. Short term memory: The public only remembers what they last saw, as a result, money is pouring in on the Wolf Pack creating value in the point spread.
3. Getting even: Wake Forest will be looking to avenge their rout loss to NC State last year. Price only got his team across mid-field twice last year and the Demon Deacons never scored a point the entire 2nd half. Price only completed 50% of his passes and threw for just over 115 yards, while the defense gave up a total of 428 yards.
4. Veterans: Wake Forest brings back 17 returning starters, which are motivated and determined after last year’s loss. NC State brings back only 10 starters, including a new QB and an inexperienced offensive line.
5. First test on the road: This will be the Wolf Packs first time on the road this year. It will be a new QB and head coach on the road for the first time, trying to achieve victory… Good luck (it doesn’t happen as much as you may think).
When adding up all 5 components and then giving Wake Forest more than a touchdown at home, it becomes a prime betting opportunity. My money is on the gold and black!
