Kansas State Football 2013 Spring Wrap Up
SPRING SUMMARY
All eyes were on the quarterback battle between sophomore Daniel Sams and juco transfer Jake Waters. Both were impressive in the spring game throwing and running the ball, but that was against the second-team defense that put up little resistance. The starting job won’t be decided until the fall.
POTENTIAL BREAKOUT PLAYERS
Senior wide receiver Torell Miller has eight career receptions in three seasons but could be an impact player. He has the size (6-2, 216) to complement smaller, established receivers Tyler Lockett and Tramaine Thompson.
On defense, inside linebacker Blake Slaughter is coming off a junior redshirt season and will try to fill the shoes of Arthur Brown. Slaughter is only 5-10 but is a quick, smart veteran in the middle of a defense that lost eight starters.

ARE THERE ANY SURPRISES WE CAN EXPECT?
The offense has explosive potential if one of the quarterbacks takes control, but the success of the team will depend on how the rebuilt defense develops. There were many contenders for the open positions on the line and cornerback but no clear-cut favorites emerged.
